Welcome to Julia Sutherland’s website. Julia came into this life with a mission, and for the past 34 years she’s been trying desperately to remember what it was. She does know, however, that it involves music, laughter, a love of theatre and language and a fair helping of New Age philosophy. Much like her cooking, the quantities of each ingredient are prone to vary vastly day to day. The only certainty is that, like her cooking, there is always plenty of zest.
Currently, Julia is taking a break from her regular hosting positions while she focuses her theatrical and boho energy on WMT's much anticipated production of RENT, which opens in October. Most recently, Julia performed 'Winter Solsister' to a packed house in regional victoria. In her travels, Julia has been declared ‘Superb!’ by the BBC, and ‘Impeccably focused…riveting’ by Australian playwright David Williamson.
Julia has several irons in the fire for 2011, including getting camp and cabaret again with Dean Arcuri and Cameron Thomas in Menage-a-Tour. She will also be performing in Soul Theatre's production of Climamania in May. Watch this space for more details...
